Business Analyst - Infrastructure (SOE Upgrade) - Interstate

A leading Energy Utilities firm located on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia requires an 'INFRASTRUCTURE\' BUSINESS ANALYST ideally with exposure to the Energy Utilities domain for a 12 month term to contribute to an SOE upgrade and SharePoint implementation project.

This challenging roles will see you support the business in a new program of work playing a key role in the systems integration and business process development team in an end to end business analysis capacity.     

Role Responsibilities: 

- Provide impact analysis assessments of the SOE upgrade and SharePoint implementation.
- SOE implementation upgrade to version 7. The tasks around this project will be to do an impact assessment on the business for the upgrade (what training needs to happen, handover to outsourced providers. The role will be to work from an initiative statement to ultimately look at the problems and scenarios that fall out of this review.
- Responsible for a Security project and a SharePoint implementation project.
- Through analysis and documentation ensure the modifications to the business systems are compliant with requirements.
- Strive to have a broad and deep understanding of business processes pertinent to the scope of the project and a high level understanding of the system integration points.
- Organise, prepare for and execute workshops, interviews and other information gathering sessions with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Ensure greatest possible business value, effectiveness, efficiency from capital and operational investments in terms of business systems and processes.
- Identify relevant, cost-effective innovations and enhancements to IT systems and processes within the scope of the project that will deliver enhanced support for the Business.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- The candidate will also need to be familiar with Microsoft technologies, virtualization, WAN/LAN environments. If they are ITIL certified that will be a bonus.Knowledge of the utility distribution and retail industries in a deregulated environment.
- Exposure to the Energy Utilities domain will be highly regarded.!
- Experience of business analysis and process architectures in a corporate technology function. 
- Ability to work independently to research and incorporate regulatory and other external stakeholder requirements.
- Demonstrated business and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of general end to end IT and specifically interfaces and system capabilities.
