Business Analyst in Sample Management

Harvey Nash is looking for a Business Analyst in Sample Management for a 12+ month project in Switzerland.

The role is for an experienced professional to perform the role of a Business Analyst for a global IT project within Pharma Clinical Operations, namely the Development of a Sample Management Solution (Global Pharma Biobank) to manage Clinical Samples which includes Sample Accessioning as well as Lab Processing.

You are responsible for

. Analyzing the business processes, understand business needs and assist the business in the definition of detailed level business processes
. Developing the business use case scenarios with input from the business subject matter experts
. Gathering and documenting requirements and engaging the user representatives from cross-functional units in scoping and prioritization
. Defining solutions and/or contributing/driving the vendor solution evaluation and selection
. Developing functional specifications, use cases, business rules
. Helping the IT Project Manager in creating project plans with regards to planning tasks and timelines related to his/her job assignment
. Working with both the client's internal development team and external vendor team to explain the requirements and functional specification, screen and report mock-ups/wireframes
. Working with the validation and test team and contributing in the development of traceability matrixes, validation and testing strategies, validation/test plans, test scripts, test data creation and summary reports
. Supporting development of the user acceptance test plan and test scripts based on the business processes and business use case scenarios and assisting the business users during UAT execution
. Support in analysing defects and issues reported during testing
. providing content knowledge for the development of training, change management and deployment plans, job aids and support knowledgebase articles for the help desk

Requirements

. 5-8 years' experience as an IT business analyst, systems analyst combined with software validation/quality assurance experience with knowledge in the area of sample management
. Strong domain knowledge in the area of clinical sample management within Clinical Operations is a must
. Experience developing risk-based system assessment, impact analysis, validation plans within a GxP environment
. Strong user requirements, system analysis and technical skills, as well as proven skills in requirements facilitation, process flow creation and documentation authoring is required
. Experienced working in a project-driven environment
. Project experience on a global scale is a preferred (virtual teams, English speaking environment)
. Ability to support prototyping activities that will validate business requirements and solution definition
. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal in English); German would be a plus
