Business Analyst, HKMA, EMIR, MAS, CFTC

Trade Repository Business Analyst required with single or multi-jurisdictional experience of derivative regulation such as DFA/EMIR/HKMA. Consultants should have hands on experience of documenting the programme traceability.

Objectives

Business Analysis activities

- Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) relating to the Reporting of OTC Trades across major Global Regulators (eg CFTC, ESMA, HKMA, MAS) to Trade/Swap Data Repositories (eg DTCC, US SEC, etc).
- Fully document scope of all related business requirements, relating to each deliverable.
- Link with Asset Class Business Managers and Technical Specialists in order to write documents that can then be signed off and used as the basis to construct technical documents used to support the necessary technology changes.
- Challenge and question required business flows where necessary in order to define an optimal and efficient business process.
- Provide input into the generation of test cases to support the Test strategy
- Implementing Traceability of regulation to Business Requirements, Technical requirements and Testing documentation

Success criteria/Deliverables

- Prior experience of working on a Trade Reporting programme (preferably parts of either DFA or EMIR).
- Assist in the documentation of programme Traceability of regulation to Business Requirements, Technical requirements and Testing documentation for audit and regulator evidencing
- Experience in producing both business requirements (BRDs) and functional specification documents (FSDs) - and understanding the difference between the two (eg understanding the difference between the roles of asset class business managers and the technical experts).
- Understanding of trade capture flows (eg booking scenarios for OTC products & related clearing activities), as well as Middleware, counterparty reference data, confirmation & clearing processes), preferably across a variety of OTC Asset Classes.
- Awareness of Trade Reporting mechanisms (eg connectivity to GTR, FpML etc), but not necessarily deep technical knowhow.
- Strong document production skills.
- Ensure all BRDs are signed off by all involved parties.
- Link with Technology teams in DSL and PTS (where necessary) to assist in the development of technical documents arising from the content of the BRD.
- Actively contributing to improving the overall requirements gathering processes.
- Ensuring all relevant documentation is filed in a logical and transparent manner.
