Business Analyst (Financial/Accounting) Job

BUSINESS SYSTEM ANALYST I (FINANCIAL/ACCOUNTING) is needed for a LONG-TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Walnut Creek, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE

- Working under the direction of the Financial Systems Manager within Accounting Services, the Business Systems Analyst will consult and provide a broad range of support activities to the Accounting Services by planning, conducting and analysing complex business problems intended to be solved through the implementation of new or modifying existing technology solutions.
- In this role, the Business Systems Analyst will assist in producing Accounting Services requirements, developing project plans and designing user acceptance (UAT) strategies.
- In addition to strong financial systems experience, the Business systems Analyst position also requires accounting, business process and internal controls knowledge and experience.
- Salary is expected to start at or around $40-45/hr. W2, but call to discuss.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Perform walkthroughs and interviews with the Accounting Services management and staff to identify and developing requirements for enterprise-side projects/systems that impact Controller's division.
- Analyze complex business problems across multiple systems and functional areas (eg, data mapping, journal entries for new transactions, source-to-target reconciliations, etc.), formulate process and technology solutions and work with IT. to design, test and implement (or modify) appropriate technology solutions.
- Participate in and/or lead any projects related to financial data or systems as required by management.
- Provide functional support to Accounting Services during peak processing periods (eg, month end close) including but not limited to designing system queries and reports, report generation, data validation, system balancing and monitoring service level agreements with IT.
- Performs testing over the company's IT. general controls to ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations.
- Identifies training opportunities related to financial systems and processes within Accounting Services.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree in ACCOUNTING, FINANCE or Computer Science or related field required
- Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Requires the ability to plan, organize and achieve coordinated objectives.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with PeopleSoft GL is preferred
