A high profile Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Business Analyst/Business Intelligence Tech Lead to join their talented and dedicated team in Canberra for an initial 3 month contract with the view to extend.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

- Through consultation with stakeholders at executive, managerial and operational level, analyse the reporting and decision support needs associated with business processes and procedures;
- Through collaboration with staff, define and document requirements for data marts and associated Business Intelligence products (Cognos packages, cubes and reports);
- Undertake data discovery and profiling, assess fit for purpose' status, contribute to dimensional modelling and associated Extraction, Translation and Load (ETL) activities, and ensure appropriate testing;
- Engage extensively with business users, technical staff and other stakeholders as required to ensure that proposed new and changed data marts and Business Intelligence products are accepted as the best way forward for the Department as a whole;
- Liaise with solution architects, systems analysts, developers, testers and other technical staff to resolve queries and issues relating to the Business Intelligence requirements

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- Excellent skills in analysing business processes and developing system requirements
- Experience in analysing and documenting requirements for Business Intelligence and data warehousing (preferably utilising the Kimball life cycle methodology)
- Self-motivation and ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and personal engagement skills, both written and oral
- Attention to detail
- Kimble methodology (desirable)
