BUSINESS ANALYST - BI, DATAWAREHOUSE, BOXI, ENGLISH, FRENCH
For a project with the European Commission we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst.
INTRODUCTION
In a framework of rationalisation and of continuous improvement, the European Commission Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation (also called EuropeAid or DG DEVCO) has decided to group all technical and business functions relating to Business Intelligence (BI) within a same team. This new team will be in charge of the internal and external reporting of DG DEVCO and of the complete BI process necessary to transform raw data into valuable information for the business: collect and store data, produce, publish and analyse indicators, reports and dashboards, etc.
By doing this, DG DEVCO is willing to reinforce the implementation of its Strategic Planning and Programming Cycle and to provide the right reports and performance indicators for the business to be able to monitor its activities and take the right decisions. It will also better align the offering on the needs and objectives of the DG.
The SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST CONSULTANT will join this new team and will contribute to the definition and implementation of this new BI strategy.
NATURE OF THE TASKS
- Provision of advice and assistance in the area of business intelligence
- Understanding of the business of EuropeAid
- Participation in meetings with users to understand their reporting requirements
- Elaboration of vision documents
- Functional requirements and business case analysis:
- Identify and outline the Business Requirements
- Assess the requirements consistency
- Identify and describe the sources of information (internal & external)
- Check the consistency of the requirements with the global BI strategy
- Provision of technical studies, technical expertise, technical evaluations in relation with the Data Warehouse
REQUIRED SKILLS
The candidate should have in-depth knowledge and proven experience in the field of Business Intelligence. The candidate should also have strong capacity in preparing and writing studies and analysis documents, to give presentations, to participate in multi-lingual meetings and should be an excellent communicator.
The candidate must be fluent in French and/or English. He/she should also be able to work with documents both in French and English.
The candidate should also master following technologies:
- MS Office
- MS-Project
- Business Objects version XI
OPTIONAL SKILLS
Following expertise is considered as an asset:
- RUP (Rational Unified Process) methodology
- knowledge of EDF and EU General Budget financial and accounting processes
- Business knowledge of financial IT systems such as ABAC (commission accounting system)
- Knowledge of QlikView
- Experience with Business process analysis tools like Aris
- Knowledge of JIRA
