Job Description
Overview of business area or project:
New impairment guidance for credit losses mandated by FASB and IASB for accrual accounted financial instruments and off-balance sheet commitments is expected to result in increased valuation allowances compared to current US GAAP and IFRS.
- Current model: Incurred loss model, ie, credit losses must be probable
- Future model: Expected credit loss ("ECL") model, ie, probability threshold will be removed
The Impairment Program has 2 major deliverables in 2018 (IFRS Go-Live) and 2019 (US GAAP Go-Live). This project of designing, constructing and implementing processes and controls to deliver timely and accurate presentation and disclosures covers both the end-to-end process/controls as well as specific IT developments to enable delivery of the required presentation and disclosures.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work as a Business Analyst within the project
- Responsible for the gathering of business requirements, documentation of the business requirements including putting forward recommendations for solutions, where required
- Preparation of functional specifications and use cases for the delivery of the business requirements
- Preparation of test plans, test cases, co-ordinating with users and IT during the testing phase
- Execution of specific test cases
- Preparation of the documentation and steps for deployment, including user training where required
- Performs User training where required

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- 7 - 10 years of experience as Business Analyst in a large scale global regulatory project
- Degree in Finance/Accounting/IT (MBA (Finance)/CA/ICWA/CPA/ACCA)
- Good understanding of accounting/experience of accounting projects
- Strong communication, organisational and negotiation skills
- Very good analytical skills, problem solving skills and critical thinking
- Fluent English
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work well under pressure, independently and to take initiative
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Good team player
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Some knowledge in banking products (loans, SLB, risk models)
- PeopleSoft skills
- SQL skills
- MS Access skills
- In-depth experience in IFRS or US_GAAP accounting treatment
