Business Analyst

SUMMARY:

- The Regulatory Information Services group's Regulatory Operations Specialist - also known as the Data Quality Management Analyst.
- The Data Quality Management Analyst supports the development and improvement of information analysis techniques and business processes, assists with proactive and reactive data remediation projects, collects proof of analysis and documentation to support disposition, and assists with data analysis to support Data Governance standards development and overall maintenance.
- Responsible for executing on proactive and reactive data remediation issues as entered in the Data issues log.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- As a Data Quality Management Analyst--Assist with creating, analysing and assigning reactive data remediation issues, and with proactive data remediation projects
- Assist with data analysis to support cross-database data harmonization and standards development. Create and manage documentation related to standards development
- Collect, analyze and report metrics on issues and their dispositions
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions to establish current data uses and harmonized data vision
- Supports the development and improvement of analysis techniques and business processes. Develops and maintains analytics reports. Trains end users on how to interpret and use analytics reports
- Supports execution of data standards, reactive data remediation and proactive data remediation processes
- Executes assigned project task and reports on project task execution
- Interacts with team, customers/stakeholders in a professional manner
- Provides periodic status as required by the team manager (whether weekly, daily, monthly)

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years' experience or Bachelor's degree
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

- 4 years related experience
- Strong command of the English language, both oral and written
- Demonstrated ability utilizing Analytic Tools such as Spotfire, Click View, or Business Objects
- Demonstrated skills in Excel such as macros/BASIC,
- Ability to work within a complex and Matrix environment

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- 1 years' experience in regulatory or industry related role
- Advanced word processing knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint and MS Access
- Experience in designing processes, metrics and creating executive dashboards and summary reports
- Experience with creating databases a plus
- Familiarity with data modelling terminology and techniques
- Knowledge and hands on experience with data base systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to learn new software
- Excellent organizational skills
