Business Analyst

Company located in ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA is seeking an experienced BUSINESS ANALYST. Job is FULL-TIME, and BASE SALARY IS IN THE MID $50'S PLUS BONUS(UP TO $70K/YEAR). Company will cover relocation, and pays 100% for healthcare insurance.

JOB PURPOSE The business analyst will be responsible for understanding, documenting, reporting, and analysing the data from company's policy and claim systems. This position will be responsible for report automation, report accuracy verification, data analyses, audits and ad hoc reporting. The position requires effective prioritization, time management, communication and organizational abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Assist in month-end premium and commission auditing
- Produce analyses and audits as requested using MS Excel, MS Access or MS SQL
- Uncover patterns, discrepancies & trends in data and provides in-depth business analysis
- Create accurate and timely reports for all departments as well as senior management
- Check and validate recurring reports
- Work with other departments in improving and automating business functions
- Find ways to automate reporting process to gain efficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS:THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED

- Bachelor's degree in MIS, business, economics, finance, or related field
- 2 years relevant experience or course work
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access (2010), and Microsoft SQL Server (2008 or 2012)
- Database programming using SSIS and/or T-SQL (stored procedures, table & index management, ETL packages for data warehouse and report creation and automation)
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to independently research and solve problems
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Enthusiasm to learn new technology
- Ability to manage priorities of varying complexity

THE FOLLOWING ARE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

- Insurance experience
- Knowledge of VBA
- QlikView, Crystal Reports or other Business Intelligence tool
