SUMMARY

- Provide business function support in various power delivery settings in addition, develop processes to satisfy the needs and requirements of a diverse financial group that utilize a variety of O&M, Capital and/or balance sheet and clearing accounts.
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree or an in Finance or Accounting and 5 years experience financial analysis, accounting operations, or operational analysis.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting principles as they apply to budget development and business planning.
- Interface and serve as primary liaison between the business unit and Corporate Financial Department, to ensure that reporting requirements, special requests, timelines and variance analysis requests are satisfied.
- Department is seeking a business/financial analyst who will be in charge of overseeing IT projects and initiative across the utilities, especially within investment and planning initiatives.
- Position would be responsible for reviewing the project dashboard, monitoring projects progress and sending necessary communications.
- As needed, will set up meetings with project managers to discuss project status and any variances within budget.
- Position will be required to review financials for each project and assist PM's with getting needed approvals.
- Four groups that the analyst will support
- Will meet with each group, on a pre-determined schedule, to make sure they are on target to meet project budgets and deadlines
- Contractor should also be comfortable navigating SharePoint, as the departments documents are all stored there.

SKILLS:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong knowledge of business practices and processes related to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Advanced technical skills include, but not limited to, Excel, Financial reporting tools (ie Hyperion), Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Strong problem solving and analysis ability.
- Experience leading small IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.
- Skilled in tracking, trending, and data analysis.
- IT Financial Planning and Budgeting skills, with experience providing big picture oversight over multiple projects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and function in ambiguous situations.
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Excel experience is required
- Prior experience with financial reporting tools such as Hyperion is preferred.
- Prefer candidates with financial and project planning experience over a candidate with prior utility experience
- Candidates with prior HP Project Portfolio Management experience preferred
- Candidates should have prior exposure to IT Project Planning
- 5 Years' experience required within a financial or IT background

PREFERRED:

- SharePoint Administration skill set (ability to design, configure and transform business process flows into SharePoint workflow, and overall site administration)
- HP Project Portfolio Management (PPM) experience
