Business Analyst

THE OPPORTUNITY

A new opportunity has been created within a well known federal government agency for a 12 month contract. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

THE ROLE

- Conduct business analysis that identifies requirements
- Document business requirements and develop technical solutions that support those requirements by working closely with business and other teams
- Poduce high and low-level business specifications that document business processes that model and specify the problem and design the solution, in collaboration with other production support or project team members
- Identify system, development or support issues in collaboration with technical staff
- Track, analyse and assist in the prioritisation of change requests or errors, risks and issues
- Conduct or assist in IT impact assessments and costing for applications projects
- Interpret business requirements into applications systems design artefacts
- Work as an effective team member; share knowledge and information with the team and help others meet team priorities

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- An understanding of, or the ability to quickly acquire, knowledge of the business with the ability to capture complex requirements and the systems and administrative process
- Demonstrated ability to elicit and analyse IT, business and functional requirements in alignment with organisational and industry standards, and translate these requirements into specifications for IT solutions
- Proven ability to understand, analyse and communicate IT system processes, technology, infrastructure and specifications to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated understanding of IT design, system development and maintenance methodologies, including the ability to assess and explain the impact of proposed changes on existing processes
- Ability to work with project managers, project team members and business representatives to deliver project outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to be self motivated with minimal direct management and a demonstrated commitment to meeting deadlines
