Business Analyst

Client's Information Technology management team is looking for talented, ambitious, self-directed individual to guide the business analysis process from conception to launch. This individual will be responsible for the researching, creation and maintenance of comprehensive, well analyzed specifications. He/she will also assist in other parts of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Effectively collaborate with business, marketing, technical and design teams to develop requirements, prioritize enhancements, translate into Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs) and drive projects to completion.
- Identifies the functional definitions of the system, complete with workflow; impacts to existing applications; and navigation.
- Designs user interface mockups, visual models, charts, flow diagrams and other specification components.
- May conduct analytical review meetings as required with business stakeholders and subject domain experts to acquire the necessary details to write functional specifications.
- Facilitates the clarification of specification issues as they arise during the software development process.
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, and clarity of specifications.
- In cases where business requirements or scope documents are not provided, assists in gathering business requirements from the appropriate sources.
- Follows the company standard development processes to make the best use of limited resources (time, money, people) resulting in a stable, maintainable product that meets user requirements.
- Works with minimal supervision, to deliver on schedule, and to coordinate and prioritize multiple job requests.
- May present specifications to stakeholders.
- Accomplishes all of the above in accordance with standard procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, INFORMATION SYSTEMS, BUSINESS, OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE.
- 4+ YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE.
- FINANCIAL SERVICES, MORTGAGE SERVICING AND LOSS MITIGATION EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.
- MUST BE EXTREMELY DETAIL ORIENTED, A GOOD PROBLEM SOLVER, A GOOD LISTENER, ARTICULATE (IN BOTH WRITING AND VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS), AND ABLE TO HANDLE PROJECTS ALONE AND WITHIN A GROUP.
- POSITIVE ATTITUDE, NEGOTIATION SKILLS, STRONG WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE ALSO REQUIRED.
- EXCELLENT PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS.
- EXPERIENCE WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT LIFECYCLE; KNOWLEDGE OF SUCCESSFUL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGIES AND BEST PRACTICES.
- ABILITY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS ACROSS DOMAINS (BUSINESS, FUNCTIONAL, TECHNICAL, AND OPERATIONAL).
- DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN LARGE SETS OF DOCUMENTATION; A HIGH LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY WITH MICROSOFT WORD OR OTHER DOCUMENTATION TOOLS; KNOWLEDGE OF SQL EDITING TOOLS A PLUS.
- ABILITY TO HANDLE CHANGE AND AMBIGUITY.
- EFFECTIVE IN A FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT.
