BUSINESS ANALYST
Purpose of Role
As a Senior Business Analyst you will build relationships with the business, capture their requirements and provide the right level of detail to support the design and development of solutions. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work on larger/more complex assignments and provide coaching, advice and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Business to identify, shape and evaluate new ideas
- Apply various process modelling and analysis methods and standards
- Build in-depth understanding of business areas and their key drivers for the projects you are working on
- Support effective business change by building and influencing relationships with and between senior stakeholders
- Ensure that projects they are working on are supported by a robust business case
- Support the business case production by providing input concerning IT related costs/benefits
- Where IT will impact business processes, ensures the as-is' and to be' business processes are documented
- Ensures the Business Analysts support the Enterprise Architecture/Solution Design in gathering the non-functional requirements (eg system uptime, performance, etc) from the business
- Ensure business requirements are properly understood and met by the delivered solution including supporting the execution of test plans
- Contribute to post-implementation reviews to incorporate learnings into future work
Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications
Essential:
- Ability to produce concise and accurate specifications of business need
- Solid business analysis skills including analytical and requirements gathering
- Ability to deliver under pressure and to tight timescales
- Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills including confidence working at all business levels
- Self-starter with the ability to show initiative and work without supervision
Desirable:
- Experience of using Lean and Six Sigma for business process improvement
- Experience in business or systems/technical or process analysis
- Experience of process design and improvement
- Experience of vendor management
- Knowledge of new technology and approaches to IT development
