Business Analyst

Our client, a leading Investment Bank is looking for a Business analyst for a 6 month contract to be based in Marylebone.

Working as a BA you will be working on a project within the Finance Systems Initiative. The project aims to roll-out standardised processes to support daily profit-and-loss and balance sheet control processes to the legal entity CS Europe Ltd. This entity covers a range of products, from Cash securities to Money Markets, Repos, SLBs and OTC derivatives. Existing systems will be enhanced and strategic systems adopted as part of the project, which encompasses processes such as Clean P&L, Reconciliations, Balance Sheet reporting and daily workflow. As part of the core project team, the BA will act as the key liaison between the Change function and IT teams responsible for impacted applications.

KEY DELIVERABLE:

- Understand and document current application flows within the architecture.
- Define end-state processing and interim steps as part of a phased roadmap for the roll-out of functionality
- Identify and document changes to the front-to-back application flows that will be necessary to support business requirements
- Analyse data requirements for new and changed processes, including Clean P&L reporting, reconciliations, balance sheet reporting, exception-based processing of breaks, and daily workflow
- Encourage and facilitate communications between CFO Change and a number of teams including analysts, designers and developers from within the Finance IT organisation.
- Provide developers, database designers and testers with detailed specifications, which address the business and functional objectives of the project.
- Collaborate with other projects within the programme
- Collaborate with business counterparts to understand and document business processes and supporting data.
- Present definition-phase to the component development teams and field queries raised by them.
- Assist, refine and review the design-phase deliverables produced by the component teams.
- Verify requirements coverage.
- Assist, refine and review test scripts and test cases.
- Identify and resolve Issues as a result of testing.
- Work to improve the analysis processes within the project.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Business analysis skills within Investment Banking
- Exposure to standard project methodologies and an understanding of the broader software development life cycle.
- Ability to analyse large volumes of data
- Investment Banking experience working in large scale projects involving multiple global teams.
- Strong team player, proven ability to perform as part of a global team.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, proven ability to work closely with people in both business and technical roles.
- Knowledge of financial products and associated business processes.
- Business knowledge of FOBO reconciliations, Clean P&L or P&L Attribution.
- Good IT related degree or equivalent.
- Cash security (equities/bonds) and OTC derivatives product knowledge.
