This position will be located at our Lorain County office.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide financial support services and coordinate administrative services which may include: Facilities, Grants Administration, Human Resources, IS, Purchasing to identified sites with annual budgets of smaller size and/or fewer separately identifiable programs. Business Administrator works closely with the Directors, Program Directors, and other management staff of respective sites in carrying out the administrative support operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.

Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and submission of all required budgets including United Way, state and federal government. Present budgets to outside funding organizations, either in a verbal or written format.

Schedule, plan and complete site budgets with appropriate site program staff in conjunction with the Mgr., Budget & Analysis.

Produce statistical reports, analyses, and exhibits for internal use by other management staff and for external reporting to federal, state and local funding and regulatory agencies.

Identify and recommend system efficiencies regarding administrative functions.

Compile data and prepare reports of income and expenditures. Analyze current financial status in relation to current budget and prior year fiscal experience for current month.

Provide financial data on program performance/capacity.

Monitor performance of direct reports. Provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling. Review direct reports and approve performance appraisals.

Assure that effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility. Where appropriate, inform employees as to plans and progress.

Act as coordinator on all Facilities, Financial, Grants Administration, Human Resources, IS and Purchasing issues and procedures/processes at the direction of site director and supervisor.

Maintain frequent contact with individuals in outside groups such as funders, auditors, and banks.

Use PC to input, retrieve or display accounting information. Prepare charts, tables and other exhibits to be used in reports.

Keep abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise. Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.

Produce and reconcile various billing information, using electronic or paper invoicing.

Keep abreast of electronic billing system's capability and maintenance.

Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish

Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with 3-5 years of related human service agency accounting experience, including supervision.

Knowledge of various funding sources such as ODADAS, ODJFS and CFS. Familiarity with non-profit organizations and structures preferred.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

Knowledge of accounting concepts, techniques and principles and ability to apply knowledge.

Skill in analysing and interpreting financial data.

Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.

Ability to supervise clerical and/or professional administrative personnel.

Must be able to work independently from general instructions.

Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products and other spreadsheet programs, along with considerable knowledge of IS and networks.

Familiarity with the concepts of Human Resources practices and procedures.

Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
