BUILDING FABRIC OPERATIVE

MY CLIENT, A LEADING DEFENCE ORGANISATION BASED IN FARNBOROUGH IS URGENTLY SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED BUILDING FABRIC OPERATIVE TO UNDERTAKE PLANNED, REACTIVE AND DEMAND BUILDING FABRIC WORK FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 MONTHS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY OF GOING PERMANENT AFTER THIS INITIAL PERIOD.

THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION WORKING 37 HOURS PER WEEK.

CHALLENGES;

- To keep knowledge current in line with changing legislation and best practice.
- To build relationships with key stakeholders providing a greater level of customer service.
- Prioritise and organise a range of tasks to meet required deadlines and/or expectations of managers.
- Pro-actively anticipate possible problems and to propose solutions to deal with obstacles.
- Be responsible for supervising or providing guidance to other employees in the immediate work area.
- Be flexible and willing to assist and where necessary carry out works on other sites or in other trade areas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED;

- Able to undertake both simple reactive maintenance task but also office, toilet and kitchen refurbishments
- Ability to take responsibility for situations and work tasks.
- Moderate understanding of the local business context within which the Estates work is carried out.
- Customer focused with a high degree of professionalism while undertaking work.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to take a proactive approach to customer relationships, standards, continuous improvement, and management of work within a team context.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- IT Literate.

ESSENTIAL;

- A recognised Apprenticeship in carpentry or similar trade
- Driving License
