Building Control Surveyor

My Local Authority client requires an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join their team you will have knowledge of relevant legislation that  applies when carrying out the Building Control function.

Knowledge of the following area's Disability Discrimination Act and other relevant legislation with regard to Disability Issues.ancillary legislation, particularly relating to dangerous structures and fire safety matters.enforcement activity to  secure successful prosecution and appropriate corrective action. Be able to work as necessary to complete tasks within specified deadlines. Be able to work alone and as part of a team to meet deadlines. The ability to think laterally to solve problems.An ability to assist in providing technical advice at pre-application stage.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ESSENTIAL:

- Work towards attainment of corporate   membership of I.Struct E, RICS or B Eng or similar.
- Have prior experience of working in a Building Control (BC) office.
- A successful record of working in a multi-disciplinary team of (BC) professionals where performance targets apply.

DESIRABLE:     

- A degree or equivalent in building control/building construction/  surveying; or in a related subject.
- Experience of working in close association   with Planning Development Control and Planning Enforcement Teams.
