This position is for a Build Technician for a Windows 8 deployment project at the customer site in Portage, MI. The Build Tech will be responsible for installing the Windows 8 image on new laptops for users at the site. Skills required for this position are prior experience with hardware/software break-fix, experience installing, administering and supporting Windows 7 and preferably Windows 8 Operating Systems.

A+ certification is required.

OVERVIEW:

- Test, image and clean PCs, laptop, monitors, printers, and other related hardware.
- Maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot, software and computer peripherals.
- Set up, configure and add all hardware.
- Assist Corporate Desk Side Support technicians with large IMACs.
- Assure that all tickets requiring follow up receive appropriate attention.
- Provide technical support to end users via telephone.
- Back up and burn end user data.
- Assist in developing and documenting improvements to current processes.
- Assist coworkers in resolution of end users technical issues.
- Assist coworkers in the execution of established processes and escalations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Hands-on technical knowledge of laptop and desktop design and software installation required
- 1 to 2 years experience in a break-fix environment
- A+ certification
- Ability to lift and palletize heavy equipment (PCs, monitors, printers)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
