BTS System Architect

Job description

1)      Responsible for definition of system level architecture of 2-4G BTS systems involving integration of several components such as Baseband, RF, Layer 1, 2 SW etc

2)      Link budget and noise analysis, using Matlab models or xls

3)      Optimizing the system performance by fine tuning/programming of modem/Baseband algorithms and its interaction with RF  

4)      Review circuit designs (RF/analog/power supplies). Support the process of Component selections, schematic and layout

5)      Understanding of Multi Carrier power amplifiers design  and testing

6)      Review implementation of RF drivers and calibration software. Recommend compensation/calibration procedures to fine tune RF performance under different PVT conditions

7)      Closely work with RF, modem and firmware teams to resolve system level issues

8)      Prepare/review system level test reports

Education, Experience and skills required

1)      Phd/MS/Mtech with a minimum of 10 years of experience

2)      Sound knowledge of 2G-4G protocols (Layer 1/2). GSM, WCDMA, LTE, WiMAX

3)      Good understanding of regulatory requirements in various Geos

4)      Experience in system architecture, Modem, RF development for Wireless Basestations

5)      Must have good understanding of system level performance issues (all layers: RF, Modem, Link HW, RF driver, MAC/Link protocol firmware)

6)      Expert in modelling/analysis tools such as ADS, Matlab

7)      Expert in debugging, proficient in usage of lab equipment (Signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, thermal, software debug environment, automation)

8)      Excellent written and verbal communication skills
