BMC MONITORING SPECIALIST , ALICANTE SPAIN
THE ROLE
We require an English-speaking BMC application monitoring specialist with 5 years experience in BMC technologies (BPPM, TM-ART, End User Experience Management) for our client in Alicante in an International English-language environment on Spanish coast with long term opportunity. Initial contract to end 2014, renewable, starting ASAP.
Working hours: 8 hour shifts Monday to Saturday, on-call availability
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Supported infrastructure
- BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management (BPPM)
- BMC Transaction Management Application Response Time (TM-ART)
- BMC End User Experience Management
Preventive maintenance
- Check and control applications capacity, storage capacity and inventory: Capacity Planning
- License management
- Monitor, review and verify systems
- Periodical control systems performance. Provide suggestions for systems to improve performance, security and availability of the systems
- Optimization and tuning systems
- Suggest or provide solutions to recurrent incidents or problems
- Check, control and apply necessary systems updates to avoid security or known problems.
- Support to System Architect when requested or to suggest systems improvement.
- Document well known tasks and procedures.
- Maintain existing documentation up to date
- Proactive validations and diagnostics activities for ensuring best practices in the monitoring tools
Corrective support
- Solving incidents, problems and changes within its scope of action. If it is not possible to solve them, scaling and tracking of incidents, problems and changes to third parties: End-to-end issues handling
- Support to 3rd parties to solve scaled incidents or problems.
- Document known or recurrent problems and solution supplied: knowledge base
Evolutive Support
- Add or propose new features based on IT and Business needs
- Extend existing features in order to address advanced capabilities and improve effectiveness, security and performance of the current service
- Design and implementation of integration with 3rd parties
- Implementation of new modules
- Migration of applications and new release deployments
- Redesign and improvement in Production Architecture
- Consulting services
Business Continuity Plan
- Systems Disaster Recovery architecture support and maintenance.
- Systems Availability platform support and maintenance
Knowledge Management
- Knowledge management service.
- Laptop required.
LANGUAGES
A high level of both spoken and written English is required. Minimum accepted level B2 of the CEF (Common European Framework). Spanish is valuable but not essential.
