Biotechnology Laboratory Technician Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a BIOTECHNOLOGY LABORATORY TECHNICIAN TO JOIN OUR CLIENT a leader in Industrial Biotechnology located in Wilmington, DE.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Preparation of media/reagents, bioreactor setup and operation, and routine lab and equipment maintenance.
- Conducting microbial fermentation experiments in various scale equipment (flasks, mini reactors, bench reactors, etc.)
- Performing analytical sample preparation of biological experiments (eg pH, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, metabolite analyzer, HPLC, GC, microscope)
- Recognizing erroneous or unexpected data points.
- Proficiency at recording experimental results.
- Working hours that start after noon and ending before midnight after a (3-4) month training period.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

- B.A. or B.S. degree in Biology or a relevant life sciences field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to work aseptically with microorganisms.
- Preparing and cleaning equipment for each experiment.
- HAVE THE ABILITY TO LIFT UP TO 25 POUNDS.
- Following written protocols for standard tasks and assays.
- Effective skills in documentation and sample handling.
- Experience with biochemical, microbial, or any bio-related experiments.
- Knowledge, understanding, and a willingness to follow general safety practices in a research or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use computers.
- Proficiency with standard software such as MS Office suite.
- Effective written and oral communication of scientific results.
- Demonstrated skills in time management.
- Willing to work hours that start and end between noon and midnight
