BIOCHEMIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in CHESTERFIELD, MO

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

*Excellent experimental design, communication, organizational skills and great work ethic
*Capable of learning new concepts and techniques at a rapid rate
*A strong academic background in either biology or biochemistry with basic laboratory skills

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

*Involved in protein expression, purification, modification via chemical conjugation, QC and biophysical and functional characterization of proteins
*Develop new protein functional assays, biochemical characterization of insects and insect resistance mechanisms, and mode of action studies of insecticidal proteins
*Involved in general instrument maintenance
*Review literature for technical support and consult with colleagues for advice on issues
*Recognize unexpected problems and readily communicate with supervisor to address issue
*Evaluates the physical properties of various living organisms in order to investigate their applications to medicine and other industries.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

*Minimum of a M.S. in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline with academic or industry experience; Ph.D. level scientists are also encouraged to apply
*Experience in protein biochemistry, biophysical characterization of proteins and mass spectrometry
*Excellent experimental design, communication, organizational skills and great work ethic
*Capable of learning new concepts and techniques at a rapid rate
*A strong academic background in either biology or biochemistry with basic laboratory skills
