Bioanalytical Scientist

A unit of the Pharmacodynamics department is seeking a Clinical Bioanalytical Scientist to systematically explore precise and accurate quantitation methods of the Company's biotherapeutics in tissues. A key contribution of the unit is to utilize state-of-the-art bioanalytical technology to provide knowledge for preclinical systems-based PK/PD modelling, enabling translation to humans and ultimately improving the quality of clinical candidates and reducing late-stage attrition. This position will include optimization of tissue homogenization, protein extraction techniques and the establishment of novel, universal normalization tools to enable the use of immunoassay approaches.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Hands-on training in tissue handling and processing
- Participating in the development of universal normalization tools
- Verifying the process works for regulated bioanalysis
- Development and characterization of quantitative bioanalytical assays for tissue biomeasure based on LC-MS/MS and immunoanalytical tools (includes nanoflow chromatography; high resolution and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry; protein biochemistry including digestions, modifications and separations; antibody enrichment; immunoassays )
- Handling of biological samples, specifically tissues

SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree required. Experience in handling and processing of biological tissues necessary. Must have an understanding of concepts of immunology based analytical methods. Ability to work as part of a team required. Must have 1-3 years of experience in Sample Analysis, Analytical Techniques, and Immunoassays (RIA, ELISA).
