Description of Project or Company/Organization:
Calian is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to contribute your knowledge and experience to the Canadian Forces. For more than twelve years Calian has been providing training to military members.
We are currently seeking Instructors to join the Canadian Defence Acadamy (CDA) as Calian employees.
Job Description:
CDA is responsible for providing Resource Management Support (RMS) training to all Regular Force and most Reserve Force Officers and selected Non-Commissioned Officers. Instruction of theory and practical application of skills will be required to deliver training at the QL3 and QL5 levels.
Duties will include:
- Providing instruction in the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of a specified military occupation
- Using word processing, spreadsheets and database software (MS Office Suite)
- Preparing lesson plans
- Operate training simulators, tools, and/or other equipment used in the occupation being instructed or by the institution providing the training
- Assisting other instructors in training activities requiring more than one instructor
- Counselling students on their progress
- Maintaining and updating student files
- Performing student assessments
- Assisting DND by making recommendations and changes to existing curriculum; and
- Providing safety support by administering immediate first aid to students and unit personnel in the event of emergency
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- Minimum one (1) year experience instructing in the content area related to the Task Authorization
- Minimum two (2) years experience working (not as an instructor) in the content are related to the Task Authorization
- Hold a valid Standard First Aid certificate
- Successfully completed course ZAHX - RMS Clerk
Desirable Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to individuals who have education or suitable experience teaching adults
Special Conditions:
The ability to obtain a Reliability Security clearance
