Hill+Knowlton Strategies is searching for a bilingual and customer-service focused technician to join our IT team, working out of the Ottawa office. The successful candidate will support the IT and network needs of our business and employees (largely in Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec) supporting both PC and MAC users.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide Tier-1 support to end-users, diagnosing problems and offering advice and solutions within a professional services environment
- Resolve technical issues related to software, hardware, networking and telecom via phone, email, remote and desk-side support
- Assist remote users with network/VPN connectivity issues
- Set up computers and install software
- Install, configure, administer, and support hardware and software for LAN and WAN, including hubs, Switches, Routers, network elements, and provide an optimized and reliable environment
- Add/create/delete and maintain environment of Active Directory users
- Deliver quality customer service to internal customers
- Position includes up to 30 per cent travel time to other cities in Ontario and Quebec, some other travel may be required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- +5 years of IT systems and computer networking experience
- Strong verbal communications and written skills in English and French (Bilingualism is mandatory)
- Prior experience working in a professional services environment is preferred
- Experience in of both Windows (2008 Server and Windows 7) and Mac (iOS) platforms-Experience providing support on desktop application software (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe software)
- Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, LAN, WAN, VLAN environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Lync an asset
- Demonstrated capability in exercising effective and appropriate judgment and independent decision-making
- Superior interpersonal skills
- College diploma or university degree in a related field
- Valid driver's license required
