BIG DATA SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
My client based in Belgium is developing a system based on world-class big data technologies and they require the assistance of an experienced Big Data Solutions Architect to come on board and take lead on a large scale big data implementation. You will collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry to create and implement innovative high-quality solutions. You will be part of a team and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.
PROFILE:
- Team lead and good communication skills
- Extensive experience in Solution Architecture, Design and Development for several projects
- Should be well versed with Big Data Landscape, Distributed Systems (databases, mesos)
- Should have hands-on experience in any of the big data technologies like MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, Scala, etc. to complete POCs, review code, implement tests and guide the team for the solution implementation but also in issues handling end to end
- Should have had experience in playing the role of a lead architect for at least 2-3 Big Data implementations
- Should have built several APIs (REST) that responds to a very high load and serves a large amount of data and requests
- Should have in-depth experience with distributed storage (database or filesystems) with performant querying and storage
- Should have experience in implementing Big data platforms
- Candidate should also have good knowledge of Big Data architecture patterns, design patterns, estimation techniques, performance tuning and troubleshooting of a scalable solution.
- A public GitHub account showing interest and involvement with Big Data technologies and Machine LearningSpark, Hadoop, Mesos, Kafka are pluses
- Put several REST services in production
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required.
- Minimum 4 years experienced in Big Data Technologies (eg HDFS, Spark)
- At least 2 years of experience in core Java and its ecosystem
- Professional experience or publicly available interest in Scala and a framework like Play/Akka
PREFERRED
- At least 2 (or a big one) Big Data project implementation experience including architecture, functional and technical
