Big Data Pyspark Software Consultant

Proteus Europe is searching for a Big Data PySpark Software Consultant to join a prestigious client located in Mol, Belgium.

Your New role:-

Within the Earth Observation Unit we are looking for a software consultant who can assist us in the evolution of automated earth observation image processing chains. The evolution is to adapt and transform existing python chains, in cooperation with the development team, to a Hadoop/PySpark cluster while maintaining operational excellence. For this purpose, we are looking for a senior developer with the following profile for up to 120 working days.

Your Skills and experience:-

Essential Skills:- - Excellent knowledge of Hadoop PySpark, python2 raster processing (numpy, rasterio) is a must.
- Experience with geo-reference (grid images, tools eg gdal or osgeo, postgreSQL), experience with python packages (pandas, scipy, matplotlib) and experience with other hadoop packages (oozie, magellan, ipython notebooks) is seen as a plus.
- Insight and experience in setting up and testing automated image processing chains in a parallel computing experience is a must.
- Experience with Earth observation data is a plus.
- Knowledge of and thorough Linux experience is a must.
- Knowledge of Centos7 and working with Eclipse and GIT is a plus.
- We are looking for a - senior- profile that can work independently in a team in a technically complex environment and can critically analyze, customize and test existing processing chains.
