For a project at our client's site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced

BIG DATA ENGINEER (5266)

The role of Big Data Engineer for this contract will primarily focus on data sourcing and data integration tasks.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

- DEMONSTRATED WORK EXPERIENCE AS A DATA ENGINEER USING BIG DATA TECHNOLOGIES
- UNDERSTANDING OF DATAMODELLING AND CREATING DATA STRUCTURES ON HADOOP
- EXPERIENCE WITH BUILDING DATA PIPELINES ON HADOOP, IDEALLY CLOUDERA DISTRIBUTION, USING SPARK, SCALA, PYTHON AND SIMILAR LANGUAGES
- Very good knowledge of SQL, Impala and Hive databases.
- Software life cycle experience, ie build, deployment, testing, release and maintenance
- Fluent in English, German is an advantage

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collaborate closely with business facing teams to understand data and functional requirements
- Provide input into overall IT architecture of the solution, including technical environment configuration, Datamodelling, data integration, data presentation, information security and other IT architecture related topics
- Design and build data pipelines to ingest, integrate, standardise, clean and publish data
- Define and build integration patterns with downstream applications
- Support Data Scientist in their day-to-day work on a variety of topics, including tools and data analysis methods
- Take part in creating analytical deliverables for the business stakeholders
