Big Data Engineer

My client a leading Media Company is seeking a Big Data Engineer to join their busy analytics team. The right person should be driven and able to develop large scalable platforms. You will be designing and developing data solutions, working on cutting edge next generation analytics.

The ideal candidate must have:

- Previous experience in developing data platforms (for machine processing, data warehousing, data mining, event processing, analysis and reporting)
- To have used Cloud infrastructures; AWS essential (Chef, Puppet)
- Hadoop (Hive, Pig, HBase)
- To have used at least one of the following for Software Development; Python, Java, Ruby, C, Bash
- Expert in using SQL (or Excel)
- Experience in using NoSql, MongoDB, Cassandra or Redis
- Agile environment

Desirables:

- Strom
- Kafka
- Data modelling

Rate: £300- £350

Location: Central London

Duration: 6 Months+
