Big Data Architect, Hadoop, Django, EMR, Python, Nosql, Agile

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Proven experience delivering a Big Data Architecture using Hadoop, NoSQL and/or Lucene Excellent application development skills - Django, Python, and Java preferred Proven experience designing and developing robust and complete APIs Team player in a team of data architects, software developers to develop prototypes in an agile setup.

Develop software based on Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques, UML modelling and OO modelling, design Patterns.

Produce robust, efficient, effective Java code for applications.

Experience developing unit-testing scenarios to exercise a Java application simulating environmental failures and code failures Work with remote workgroups to develop prototype.

Delivery, installation, and training of prototypes.

Skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers and vendors.

Advanced knowledge of Agile development

Object relational mapping, EJB, Hibernate, JPA, Web Services/REST, JSON, HTML5/CSS, Ajax/JavaScript.

Relational databases including Oracle and SQL Server; Proficient in SQL JBoss Application Server including configuration, monitoring and tuning Rules Engine (Drools) and Workflow Engine (Activiti/jBPM) preferred.

Google Web Toolkit (GWT)

Continuous Integration Tools (Hudson/Jenkins), and build tools (Maven) JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS or Knockout.js, NoSQL, and other emerging technologies a plus.

Results oriented approach with good organizational and analytical skills Excellent time management, planning, organization and problem solving skills.

Must be people-oriented and a team player.

Ability to understand requirements by working at customer environment Ability to suggest new features, improve existing features, usability etc.

Knowledge in Lab workflow, EMR, HIS, LIMS/LIS systems, and Digital Pathology systems preferred.

Knowledge in various integration framework and interfaces.

Manager's Must Haves:

Proven experience delivering a Big Data Architecture using Hadoop, NoSQL and/or Lucene. Proven experience delivering SQL/Oracle databases. Excellent application development skills - Django, Python, and Java preferred Proven experience designing and developing robust and complete APIs. Minimum 10 years' experience in software development, and application integration in software industry Produce robust, efficient, effective Java code for applications.
