Big Data Architect

For our prestigious client, we are currently looking for a Big Data Architect.

KEY SKILLS:

- At least 7 years of related database development experience, including 2 to 3 years of experience working with Big Data and Hadoop technologies
- At least 7 years of experience in Software/Database Development, ETL Development, Datamodelling, Data Management, Testing and Documentation with experience in large data sets and unstructured data
- Expert level knowledge and experience in Datamodelling, data flow and database design
- Strong knowledge of:
- Master Data Management, ETL, Data Quality, metadata management, data profiling, streaming data loads;
- Knowledge of Big Data environment such as Hadoop, NoSQL, BigTable, HDFS, HBase and large data sets and related technologies MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Flume, Sqoop;
- Development, with Java and Scripting languages like Python is a plus;
- Data governance, data stewardship, data privacy.
- Good knowledge of:
- Agile software development methodologies, design and architectural patterns;
- Master data management solutions, data retention strategies, analytics and data architecture best practices;
- Relational, OLTP, SQL, dimensional and OLAP databases and related technologies;
- Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing technologies and solutions;

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement the data architecture vision required to implement the strategy consistently with other architecture domains (business, application, technical);
- Identify actors concerned by data, identify shared data, and define data governance processes;
- Direct and ensure a common vocabulary and understanding of business data;
- Develop and document data models: type of data, relations between data, data quality metrics;
- Define the required technical component to sustain the application architecture;
- Develop and document data flows;
- Define the solutions, describe all elements in the Software Architecture Document, and bring the dossier to the Architectural Review Board for validation;
- Describe scenario and drive consensus with the sponsor and the Architects for a proposed solution(s);
- Work with project teams to ensure the implementation of the defined solution;
- Monitor and enforce compliance of data standards to minimize data redundancies and enhance information quality throughout the organization;
