Big Data Architect

My client, an open source software development and solutions company, are looking for a Big Data platform architect to take on a leadership position within their team. This company is a vendor which provides flexible solutions well-suited to Big Data environments. They provide data, application and business process integration solutions that enable organizations to effectively leverage all of their information assets. This is a mid-sized company with several offices globally, and this particular position will be based in Paris.

This Hadoop architect will be a "Big Data leader" within the company. They will take initiative to explore new Hadoop toolsbe able to collaborate with development teams to create common libraries, establish/ratify Hadoop programming standards and share best practice. They will be motivated to coach/mentor developers, conduct peer reviews and share knowledge via user groups. This talented individual will create Hadoop architecture patterns and frameworks for data loading, transformation, data distribution and analytical functions using proper authorization and data security techniques.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

- 2+ years of Hadoop experience - specifically with MapReduce
- Able to design and implement Java MapReduce progammes
- Experience in Software Design Patterns and best practice
- Fluent in English (speaking/reading/writing)
- Track record of leadership skills - ability to influence and consult while providing thought leadership to stakeholders in overcoming business and technical challenges
- Happy to work in a fast-paced start up environment

DESIRED SKILLS

- Hadoop certification
- Knowledge of Apache, Oozie, Ambari or Cloudera Manager
- NoSQL experience would be a plus
