Job Description:
Design, develop, and support of the overall Cognos Framework report model,Design and develop Business Intelligence reporting solutions (reports, cubes),Collaborate with Data Architect/DBA to develop/optimize the Star-schema model for the Cognos reporting tools (Power Play and ReportNet), Collaborate with Data Architect/DBA to maintain optimal reporting tables and views within Cognos, Develop and maintain technical documentation. Extremely proficient in writing complex reports, building portals, dashboards, scorecards, FM models, cubes and integrating with Sharepoint.
Top 3-5 required skills:
1) Strong experience in creating OLAP CUBES using Transformer
2) Strong experience in creating Framework models
3) Deep understanding of best practices on Security and Modeling
4) Hands on experience in creating complex drill through reports
5) Experience in building at least one Cognos Reporting Solution from inception to delivery which includes Cognos upgrade
6) Hand on and extremely proficient in Cognos 10.2 version.
Top 3-5 daily responsibilities:
1) Manage Cognos metadata, Folder strucutre and utilize Cognos 10.2 advanced features
2) Responsible for implementing best practices on Cognos Dashboards, Scorecards, Portal, report design, development and testing
3) Liase with Business and technical staff to ensure accurate understanding of Biz requirements and translation of biz requirements
4) Help in developing the standards for Cognos Upgrade
5) Creating Complex reports which may require using Cognos SDK and advance usage of the functionality available in Cognos version 10.2
Desired Skills:
Experience with PeopleSoft and Human resources functionality
Education BS required
5+years exp.
Candidate must have working knowledge of Cognos reporting tools: Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Frame work manager, Transformer to build Business abstraction layer and multi-dimensional analysis
Candidate will utilize and provide consultation on Cognos upgrade 10.2 and it's advanced functionality
Candidates will remediate, define version control and build migration process
Candidate will be heavily involved validating reports and it's functionality
