BID WRITER (TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGY/SYSTEMS ENGINEERING) BASED IN THE STOCKTON-ON-TEES AREA OF TEESSIDE FOR AN INITIAL 3 MONTH CONTRACT PAYING £35 PER HOUR.

My client is seeking a contract Bid/Proposal Writer, reporting to the Tenders and Proposals Manager, to be responsible for providing professional and effective production of a key tender proposals.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Experience of writing and delivering successful tenders, ideally in an ITS or infrastructure maintenance environment
- Proven track record of proposal management, coordination, and administration. Ability to communicate complex issues in writing in an accessible and engaging manner
- Ability to seek out information proactively from a variety of sources, including written/online materials and knowledge held by busy senior staff, converting this into accurate and compelling prose
- Computer literate and good knowledge of Microsoft office

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for production of successful tender proposals based on good research and excellent communication with and support from colleagues
- Liaising with engineering teams and the documentation of process, delivering and facilitating process engineering workshops ensuring that all processes are clear and integrated
- Provision of support to the Operations team during handover following contract award, including initial drafting of project initiation documentation
- Writing tender based on detailed information from engineering experts and knowledge holders (normally engineering teams, service managers and Directors), referring back to them for editing and final approval
- Management and coordination of the proposal including style and graphical content
- Take ownership of the production of high quality, competitive proposals from PQQ to submission for key opportunity
- Management and coordination of the completion of individual tender applications when appropriate
- Developing and maintaining a library of tender document templates to act as a reference point for other staff involved in the tendering process and to ensure a unified and consistent approach to proposals

LOCATION: Middlesbrough, Teesside, North Yorkshire area

SALARY: £35 per hour
