Bid Team Member - Rolling Stock

Our client is a major transport organisation, currently involved in the rail franchise bidding process.

They currently require an additional team member in the Engineering workstream, to focus on rolling stock issues. The position will involve writing technical specifications for rolling stock overhaul and refurbishment strategy, to be included in the bid submission. In order to write these specifications, the position will involve liaison with both internal & external contacts. Internally this will include Fleet, Operations & Commercial teams. Externally this will include with Roscos, Network Rail and other maintenance/rolling stock organisations to research the issues involved.

We are interested in experienced rolling stock engineers with strong technical expertise and strong written skills, including experience of writing technical specifications. Rail franchise bidding experience is advantageous, but not essential.

The position is likely to be three days per week for an initial one month period and ramping up to 4-5 days for the remainder of the assignment.
