The role requires innovation, determination and tenacity to help deliver the Funding and Investment Team's strategic objectives, including the maximisation of external funding brought into the whole of Essex from the full range of opportunities available, including government and EU funding sources.

Working within a centre of excellence for accessing EU & UK funding this exciting role will network with internal and external stakeholders, supporting them with the drawdown of funding, in addition to influencing the funding programmes available across wider Essex. Working closely with the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP), public and private sector organisations, academic institutes and the third sector there will be a need to develop and support a pipeline of projects to access a full range of European and UK funding, such as ERDF and ESF through the SIF Strategy, Cross Border Territorial Co-operation, EU Leader Programme, Government Departmental programmes and large UK grant making bodies.

Previous experience in a funding/bid development role is a requisite, either within the public sector or the third sector.

- Excellent presentation skills
- Research, analysis and insight
- Interpretation and application of national and EU funding policy

The role is based at County Hall, Chelmsford but there would be an expectation to travel throughout Essex and further afield when required, so a focused, self-motivated, multitasking individual will thrive in this role.
