Business Intelligence Tester - 6 Months + Contract - £350 - £375 per day

My client a leading entertainment organisation are current seeking a highly experienced Business Intelligence Tester to join the Business Intelligence Services team. The Tester is required to work alongside the development team with the successful applicant responsible for the end to end testing of the business intelligence platform.

The successful candidate will be familiar with testing approaches used in big data environments and eager to learn new tools and techniques.

Skills Essential:

* Demonstrable experience in testing of large-scale data processing and reporting platforms
* Extensive experience throughout the software development lifecycle, covering different methodologies.
* Creation of test scenarios, test cases and test scripts (with traceability a key focus)
* Skilled in the application of different testing phases: system, integration, migration, UAT
* Interpersonal skills including presentation, negotiating, conflict resolution, etc.
Clear ability to build relationships with the other technical teams, particularly development.
* Strong communication skillsets. It is vital that the successful candidate can explain complex technical issues in non-technical terms to business stakeholders
* Ability to multi-task and prioritise within parallel development cycles and aggressive timelines
* Particularly good organisation, ability to keep track of progress and methodical approach to testing
* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving ability
* Skilled in business requirements analysis with ability to translate these into test cases. Knowledge of ETL and reporting technologies

Experience Required:

* At least 5 years experience of carrying out testing, covering numerous phases in the SQLC
* Application of Automated techniques to test programmatically
* Must be skilled in Unix, particularly shell scripting
* Highly skilled in SQL and a variety of database technologies
* Experience working on projects that are rich in data complexity and volume
* Experience in a similar role, with proven expertise gained in challenging, business critical projects
