BI Test Specialist (SQL/T-SQL/Data Warehousing) - Lausanne, Switzerland - 2years+

A long-term contract opportunity has arisen within a large consultancy based in Lausanne, Switzerland. The test BI specialist will oversee validating the business-critical applications that are developed or integrated in the BI area. You will work onsite with the end-client for the duration of the project which will last for a minimum of 2 years - with a possibility to extend for 3 years in total.

The mission covers all functional and non-functional aspects of testing, including business rule performance, non-regression, integration and acceptance tests.

Main role and responsibilities:

- Ensure the expected quality and accuracy of the software deliverables
- Participate to define the test approach for BI
- Analyse data mapping and transformation requirements to develop test strategies, procedures, and plans
- Develop and execute SQL data quality test cases, scripts and procedures to test data integration processes
- Provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the quality requirements and the agreed planning
- Participate actively in the market and end-user acceptance phases
- Provide estimates and feedback to the Software Development Manager for project scheduling purposes
- Ensure professionalism, accuracy and completeness of testing
- Ensure the promotion and respect of market best practices
- Respect of project milestones, budget and quality

Key Skills:

- Experience in SQL, Database Analysis, Design, SQL Server Stored procedures, Functions, Triggers and Views
- Skilled in testing conceptual and logical models for the data warehouse or DataMart (data structure, storage, and integration)
- Significant experience in BI/DW testing (2-5 years)
- Experience in SAP Business Object (Webi, universe) is an advantage
- Experience with off-site test centre is a plus
- Technical team leader experience is a plus

Knowledge:

- Comprehensive understanding of multidimensional database concepts (star schema, data vault) systems architecture, and data structures
- Proficient with PL/SQL and Oracle functions
- Experience creating SQL QA checks to test data integration and data transformation
- Knowledge of development and testing methodologies
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- French speaker (oral and written) is an advantage
- Experience with HP tools (ALM, QTP, Performance Centre, etc.)
