Location: Brussels

Duration: 1 Year (+ possible extension)

Main objective/Context

You love Big Data, Business Intelligence and the related technologies. You have a do it yourself/Swiss knife attitude and you strive in fast paced projects taking ownership and soldiering through technical mazes?
The BI Technical analyst collects end-user needs, analyzes, prototypes, documents and liaises with the development team for implementation (ideally able to perform himself prototyping and some of the most trivial ones).
The BI Technical Analyst will be a member of an Agile Scrum Team.

Main responsibilities & duties 

- Analyze, document requirements and prototype custom solutions for our internal and external clients
- Establish initial high level requirement documentation based on business requirements for estimation purposes
- Analyze the high level requirements for feasibility in view of:

°Our current Cazena Data Lake using related toolset (Hadoop, SQL, R)
°Oracle based Enterprise Data-Warehouse 
- Prototype a solution

°Data Modeling
°Data Load in a sandbox
°Reporting layer (Cognos) 
- Refine high level requirements and prototype into actionable technical requirements that will be the inputs for the development team for implementation on our data lake offering
- For select products ensure transition/support to the Oracle Based Data-Warehouse/Business Intelligence teams
- Provide Subject Matter Expert support throughout the implementation
- When required provide support for the User Acceptance Testing
- Cut the Gordian Knots when required 
- Integrate with an Agile Scrum team
- Effectively communicate with the rest of the Scrum team (Product Owner, Developer, QA, and other Business Analysts).
- Provide update on activities as well as known impediment/issues
- Express issues in a clear, consistent and understandable manner (written, verbal)
- Take ownership of all assigned tasks and project related assignments.
- Ensure direct communication over email/ticketing chain to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.

Skills 

- Expert Datawarehouse experience
- SQL (Oracle certification preferably)
- Ability to navigate and perform data profiling on data warehousing tables (Snowflake) and external data sources
- Comfortable reading data models and Datamodelling principles (normalization, cardinalities...) for DataWarehousing (Kimball modelling)
- Ability if required to propose data model updates to the data architect: New marts/dimensions for a specific business need.
- Ability to review existing data elements vs. business requirements and propose:

°Direct use of existing Data Marts
°Highlight missing Data Elements
°Propose additional external sources
°Moderate the discussion between Arch, Dev and Product Ownership to find the best options
°Drive the additions to the data lake from our Oracle Enterprise Data Warehouse 
- Strong Ability to prototype (to the point of wrapping up the trivial ones alone) ideally using Cognos or other BI 
- General System Administration knowledge to ensure autonomy and do it yourself attitude
- Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux
- Networking (Corporate, Cloud and gateway connections) and user provisioning (AD)
- RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL)
- Middleware installation and configuration (ideally Cognos or similar)
- User Provisioning technologies (LDAP or similar) 
- Experience with API and data acquisition (JSON, RESTful, SOAP, XML). 
- UI Wireframing (Balsamiq Mockup) a plus 
- Proven Track record capturing High level requirement all the way to technical requirements and implementation
- Ability to drive the requirements review/acceptance process
- Ability to act as referent for Dev and QA resources during the development life cycle from initial requirement review to production support.
- Ability to review test plans for coverage and support UAT activities
- Proficient with a broad set of authoring tool set: MS Office suite including Visio, Wiki
- Experience working with
- Development Collaboration Suite (Rally, JIRA, HP QC, SharePoint or equivalent)
