BI Specialist (Data Modeling)

For our client based in Basel area we are looking for a BI and datamodeling specialist:

Profile:

Principal accountabilities:

Scopes, analyses, designs, and implements in-house Business Intelligence and reporting applications.

Performs logical and physical Datamodelling to support data analytics and reporting applications.

Analyses business requirements, extracts technological needs from users requirements and translates them into detailed system specifications.

Ensures that design meets business requirements and that stakeholders understand the benefits, drawbacks, risks, costs and timescales of design decisions.

For designated systems, prepares system test cases and assists customers in preparing their test cases. Executes, records, analyses and reports results of system tests.

Ensures all appropriate systems documentation is prepared and maintained in accordance with existing standards and conventions.

Provides support for designated production systems on her/his own or with the help of internal or external resources.

Keeps line manager and project manager informed of progress, risks and timeline challenges.

Qualifications required:

Graduate diploma or degree (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline; relevant qualification in IT.

Professional certification in a relevant Business Intelligence platform.

Work experience required:

At least five years' experience in systems analysis and design using the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence toolset, especially Analysis Services, Integration Services and Master Data Management Services. Experience in SQL Server 2012 (or later) versions Business Intelligence tools would be an advantage.

At least five years' experience working on data warehousing or Business Intelligence implementation and enhancement projects.

Good knowledge and experience in data warehousing design, including logical design (dimensional modelling), physical design, data quality and ETL.

Prior experience working with master data management repositories and participating in data governance activities would be an advantage.

Prior experience with sensitive/confidential data.

Experience working in the financial or banking business sector would be an advantage.

Understanding of related Microsoft application development technologies (C#, ASP.NET, WPF, WCF and BIZTalk) would be an advantage.Michael Bailey International is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
