BI Solution Architect - SQL Server Switzerland

Projektbeschreibung
Our client, a major international organisation is currently looking for a BI Architect to be responsible for designing and developing BI solutions based on MS SQL Server.
The BI architect/specialist serves as BI expert, develops and manages BI products and solutions. This includes architecture, design and implementation and support of solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligent technologies, IBM Cognos, SQL server database engine.
The BI Architect/specialist will be responsible for providing, design expertise, and execution of results in the delivery of BI strategy and solutions that leverage Microsoft SQL platform, IBM Cognos (and potentially SAP BW). Additionally, providing solutions that are responsive, sustainable, meet company requirements, and support business process enabling initiatives. As a technology expert and business partner, assist in achieving the corporate and function goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Configure and optimize BI Environment, which includes relational and OLAP layers, and data migration components. Work in a Datawarehouse environment, which includes data architecture and data modelling. Defines semantic layers and metadata repositories to support reporting and administration. Defines designs and builds databases, using dimensional modelling methodology. Responsible for developing Datawarehouse hardware and software platforms and integrating systems.
- Troubleshoot BI Environment problems and tune for performance. Diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues. Define and enforce coding standards, design styles and best practices.
- Create DW schema design and ensure optimum database performance. Identify and streamline routine processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Gather and analyze business requirements to identify and understand source data systems. Perform data analysis and translate business needs into long-term information architecture solutions. Conduct data quality analysis to purge systems of old, unused, or duplicate data.
- Collaborate with application developers and operation engineers to ensure proper handover of the created BI designs and implementations.
- Design and develop BI solution based on Microsoft SQL Server BI Suite
- RDBMS concepts and experience in creating, maintaining and tuning Views, Stored Procedures
- Reverse Engineering Data Models
- Data Extraction, Transforming and loading (ETL) between Homogenous and Heterogeneous
- Data modelling (Dimensional & Relational) and Database Architecture
- Designing Aggregations and pre-calculating the same in SSAS.
- Processing Cubes, adding KPIs and Calculated Members USING SSAS.
- Optimizing Cubes using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) 2005. (Cube Partitioning)
- Multidimensional cubes
- Experience in conducting architecture reviews and aligning a technical solution towards best practices
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
