BI ETL DEVELOPER DALLAS, TX 6 MONTH CONTRACT

The ideal candidate for this Developer will have previous Data Warehouse and Report experience in a corporate environment. This individual will be a key team player, responsible for integrating evolving requirements into existing Data Warehouse architecture and ensuring successful information delivery to both internal and external clients.

REQUIRED:

- 5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development in Oracle (at least 2 years in 10g)
- 3+ years in developing ETL solutions in a Data Warehouse environment
- HIGH Level communication skills REQUIRED for this position; must be able to work with a wide range of users, managers, and executives
- High degree of initiative and ownership: will need to take a task and own it from inception to completion, bringing up critical issues
- Expert level PL/SQL skills
- Experience coding functions, procedures, packages in Oracle
- Experience with partition schemes (table and index)
- Perform data modelling of complex data architectures to provide high performance and availability to database systems
- Experience in diagnosing and improving SQL performance (explain plan, etc.)
- Complete understanding of efficient source to target data mapping techniques
- UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting a must
- Experience with data conversions
- Experience in reporting projects
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues
- Ability to resolve software defects in a production support environment
- Experience with performance tuning, data flow analysis, database design and process enhancement techniques
- Experience with interpreting and converting business needs into technical specifications
- Deliver on complex projects and multiple deadlines through the full development life cycle
- Experience with agile methodology
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with Business Analysts, other ETL developers and Test team

DESIRED:

- Experience working with dimensional (STAR Schema) modelling
- Exposure to reporting tools (MicroStrategy, Cognos and/or Business Objects)
- Experience acting in a BA/report writing role in a DW/BI environment
