BI & DATA WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST - CONTRACTOR
A leading Telecommunications organisation based in Switzerland is looking to add a BI consultant to their team. After securing a large scale project they require extra assistance and require a professional, knowledgeable and efficient candidate.
LOCATION: Zurich
RATE: 700-800CHF Per Day
LENGTH: 6 months Rolling
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be the BI point of contact and developer on a number of projects
- To design and develop data feeds to, objects on and outputs from our Teradata Warehouse.
- To mentor and provide expertise to other team members in developing on our Teradata Platform
- To help support the administration and day to day running of our BI platforms
- Potentially for some report development as required
- ETL, Data Object, Reporting Model & Report Design and Development (reports may be on multiple platforms)
- Support ETL & reporting model with Platform leads
- Collaborate with business owners, technology leads and BI colleagues to establish the best design and data model and report model to empower business opportunities
- Mentor and challenge in house and 3rd party developers in ETL best practice and ensure all relevant standards are met
- Deliver actionable information from source data
- End user training and consultancy on process, data, report tools and analysis
- Support development of the dashboard and visualisation strategy
- Knowledge requirements challenging and gathering
- Report maintenance & change
- Support platform leads in operational management and performance management of platforms
- Impact assessment and design specification of new requirements or changes to systems as required
- Identify, investigate and resolve anomalies in the systems
THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and DW development on a Teradata platform, ETL tool (Datastage current tool) and reporting tool experience (Cognos, Brio and Microstrategy all relevant).
- Ability to multi task and work on a range of project simultaneously.
- Good estimation of effort.
- Manage/negotiate scope creep
- Ability to communicate outputs and to build relationships with their end customers.
- Excellent knowledge of database, reporting and ETL systems, as well as commercial and business process understanding
- Passion for driving business value from innovative and efficient BI solutions
