BI Developer (Cognos)

We are looking for BI Developer (Cognos) for a 10 months contract position in Atlanta, GA.

Responsible for the analysis, design, development, configuration, testing, and implementation of changes to new and existing, custom and third party Business Intelligence applications in an enterprise environment. Maintains existing dashboards, reports, and OLAP models and enhances and develop new and improved dashboards and reports. Utilizes advanced experience with the Cognos suite of Business Intelligence tools both as a developer and an administrator, including installation, upgrades, and security maintenance within the tool. Conducts framework manager modelling within the Cognos environment and Report Studio and provides business hours and after hours support for applications already in production.

SKILLS:

- 5 or more years of experience as an application developer on Business Intelligence projects, designing and developing complex reports
- In depth experience with Cognos Business Intelligence applications, Cognos 10 preferred
- Experience creating and implementing framework manager models
- In depth experience with data warehousing and Business Intelligence projects, having delivered on multiple solutions in these areas
- Demonstrated knowledge of writing SQL and SQL stored procedure
- Experience working in a SQL Server 2008 or later environment
- Team player, demonstrates the ability to take initiative
- Thorough understanding of IT (SDLC) delivery methodologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases, data modelling and database design
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Multi-tasking on multiple projects potentially at different stages of project development
- Meet with project sponsors to assist with documentation of requirements
- Perform analysis and design activities for BI projects based on requirements
- Analyze data needs and recommend data models or changes to data models
- Develop complex reports for various functions within the organization
- Assist with quality assurance efforts by creating and executing test plans
- Assist in creating user documentation for applications
- Create technical documentation and perform design reviews
- Coordinate system sign-off, migration to production, and support of applications
