POSITION: BI Developer

DURATION: Contract- 6 months

LOCATION: Atlanta (Downtown)

Our client's Application Services Business Intelligence team is seeking an individual to serve as a BI developer. This role will be responsible for designing and building solutions using the Microsoft BI tool stack. Specifically, requirements of this role include consulting with clients on their business needs, translating business needs into analytics/reporting requirements, and interfacing with the clients and other IT team members to build custom BI solutions. The successful candidate will have proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues that arise within the BI toolset and the enterprise infrastructure supporting these applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Scope, develop, package and deliver new Business Intelligence service offerings
- Develop online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes, static/dynamic dashboards, and interactive reports, charts, and graphs based on customer needs
- Design and develop ETL packages within the Microsoft SSIS platform; demonstrate thorough understanding of ETL components
- Perform detailed data analysis and developing dimensional data models
- Serve as a BI subject matter expert to properly assess BI needs for business unit users and map those needs to appropriate Back End solution architectures (ie OLTP/transactional databases, data marts, data warehouses, cubes, local data sources, etc.)
- Collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- BS/BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related degree
- Comprehensive experience with implementing BI solutions using the Microsoft BI tool stack and adhering to enterprise-wide processes and procedures
- Strong knowledge in the following tools supported within the Microsoft BI Stack:

*Analysis Services (SSAS) Cubes
*Reporting Services (SSRS) & Report Builder
*Integration Services (SSIS)
*Excel & Excel Services
*PowerPivot
*Performance Point Services/Dashboard Designer - Knowledge of SQL Server 2008R2/2012 as related to the creation and maintenance of BI solutions
- Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and features associated with data migration (ie ETL tools and automated updates to multidimensional cube data)
- Strong data modelling skills and understanding of Datawarehouse design techniques
- Deep analytical capability to debug, monitor, and troubleshoot issues with BI solutions
- Effective communication (verbal/written) and leadership skills to foster enterprise adoption of BI solutions by power users within business units and other IT counterparts
- Comprehensive consulting skills with proven ability to work with and influence others
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and conflicting priorities
- Ability to build productive relationships with a focus on cooperation & teamwork
