For our client in the financial sector we are looking for a project manager in the BI environment who has experience in designing functional solutions.
Project duration: 6 months with possible extension
Project language: English
Project location: Brussels
The Business Intelligence team is in charge of the development of Management Reports. The key skill required to work in Business Intelligence is to be interested in both the business world and the IT world. Thus, we are looking for a person with an IT background and a strong interest in business. Additionally, because of the frequent contact with the business, we are looking for someone who is customer focused.
Tasks:
* Design the functional solution based on the business requirements. Including the logical specification of incoming interface flows, ETL-processes, logical data model(s) for data warehouse and data mart.
* Assisted by an information architect and application specialists, you will also be participating in source system qualification & profiling (pre-design).
* Coordinate developers' activities to deliver qualitative BI applications, from design to testing. Technologies used are IBM Data Stage and IBM Cognos.
* Frequent communication with the users to collect and clarify requirements, monitor progress.
* Manages projects and make sure they are delivered on time and on budget. Manages issues and risks.
Communicates with the business about project status.
Skills:
* Minimum 5 years Design
* Minimum 2 years in project management
* Perfectly knows BI modelling and stars schema
* Understanding dimensional database
1) Logical process design: design of ETL processes in a data warehouse context
2) Testing: ability to specify and perform the test cases that will allow to verify the correct implementation of the functional design (functional testing)
3) Cognos experience is certainly a significant added value.
4) Knowledge of Scrum is a plus.
