BI Delivery Lead

WHAT DOES THIS JOB INVOLVE?

The BI Delivery Lead  will: provide effective development and support co-ordination by:- Planning all Data Warehouse deliverables.

- Producing and ensuring that BI project plans are monitored reported-on and delivered to time, cost and quality standards.
- Liaison with FCA Project Managers seeking development to the Data Warehouse to ensure that they are able to successfully manage their projects through the FCA's Project Governance Framework with your input.
- Manage the relationship with the FCA's outsourced Service Management function to ensure that they are fully aware of project demands on them and deliver these to time, cost and quality standards.
- Input to the initiation of a relationship with the FCA's outsourced Application Development Framework partners to ensure that any development undertaken by them understands the current technical environments and processes.
- Team leadership, appraisals, objective setting

Deliverables will include:

Project plans

- Further project documentation as required during the life cycle
- Completion of Work Orders to enable suppliers to undertake work
- Releases of development through the relevant environments and into Production

MINIMUM, ESSENTIAL & DESIRABLE SKILLS 

MINIMUM

Proven track record in delivering BI applications:

Cognos 10 including:

Cognos Report Studio

Cognos Framework Manager

OR:

- Essbase
- OBIEE
- ODI
- SQL

ESSENTIAL

- Proven track record in delivering Cognos 10  and/or Oracle projects through the complete BI development life cycle
- Experience of ETL development and implementation
- Experience of Data Warehouse design, development and delivery
- Proven track record of working with:
- Oracle 11g
- SQL
- Windows XP
- Experience of managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers to achieve results.
- Good inter-personal and negotiating skills with the ability to influence stakeholders to achieve the desired results.
- Good relationship management skills and the ability to work comfortably with FCA staff at all levels.
- Good prioritisation and delegation skills
- Focus on detail and a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Team management

DESIRABLE

- The FCA has two approaches to software development. A sequential Waterfall approach and an Iterative approach (based on the phases of Unified Process with Agile enhancements).
- Experience of both the Iterative and Waterfall software development approach will be beneficial, especially when working with external suppliers.
- Understanding of how the job holder's work impacts on and supports the FCAs business and statutory objectives.
- TM1
- An understanding of financial services.
- Knowledge of the business drivers of the FCA, as well as its primary processes.
- Other Cognos skills and knowledge such as TM1, Metric Studio and Event Studio.
