WE ARE LOOKING FOR BI APPLICATION DEVELOPER FOR AN URGENT OPENING WITH ONE OF OUR ESTEEMED CLIENTS.
POSITION: BI APPLICATION DEVELOPER
LOCATION: COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
JOB TYPE: CONTRACT
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To develop and deliver fixes, optimisations, and small enhancements to operational BI applications running on custom Java and Teradata ETL, sourcing from WebSphere MQ.
The Application Maintenance Team will take in requests from both operations and from business users.
The team will also provide T3 support for production BI applications, so will function as Subject Matter Experts for the various applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Acting as Tier 3 support, developing fixes for production BI applications.
Working closely with operations and BI change management, develop enhancements and optimisations to production BI applications.
Act as Subject Matter Expert for production BI applications.
Take handover from running projects and maintain relevant documentation to enable a high quality maintenance service.
Participate in the BI problem management process to minimise repeating incidents.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Strong knowledge and experience of Java is required.
Strong knowledge and experience of WebSphere MQ is required.
Strong SQL Scripting skills.
Linux Shell Scripting skills is required.
Exposure to Teradata database (BTEQ, TPT, Fast Load, Multi Load) experience is highly preferred.
Exposure to Informatica or any other ETL development tool (Datastage, Ab Initio, SSIS etc) is highly desirable
Experience working in a busy Datawarehouse development team, preferably across multiple locations, on and off-shore.
Experience producing and maintaining application documentation.
ITIL Foundation is also desirable.
Knowledge of Incident management, closing tickets and production support concepts is desirable.
