Job Title: BI Analyst
Type: Contract- 3 months
Location: Atlanta, GA 30339

The BI Analyst's primary role is to elicit, analyze, validate, document, verify, and manage the real needs of the BI end users and partners. The BI Analyst serves as the conduit between the business community and the software development team.
A BA is involved throughout the development life cycle. Upon completion of the requirements baseline, the focus is shifted towards the fulfillment of those requirements via formal testing and/or iterative development. After delivery, the BA plays a primary support role handling customer inquiries, training, documentation, defect resolution, request queue management and related activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify project stakeholders and user classes. Document user class characteristics
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops etc.
- Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely
- Define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements
- Participate in requirements and support queue prioritization
- Effective application of change control processes
- End-user communications, documentation preparation and maintenance
- Provide first-line support, issue resolution, training and coaching

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Interviewing skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs asking the right questions to surface essential requirements information
- Listening skills, to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say
- Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
- Facilitation skills, to lead requirements elicitation workshops
- Observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for inquiry
- Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, executives, and technical staff
- Organizational and time management skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered in a rapidly changing environment
- Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders
- BI skills, to effectively educate users on potential uses and benefits of BI tools, and relate them to business priorities
- Basic relational and multidimensional  data query and analysis skills
- Knowledge of the online retail (E-commerce) business a plus
- Knowledge of dimensional modelling and BI tool concepts and how these are deployed and utilized within the organization, along with hands-on experience with any of the common BI toolsets
- Web development & analytics, Digital marketing, Supply Chain, and Financial background all desirable
