Best Interest Assessor (BIA) / Deprivation Of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) Safeguarding Team based in Milton Keynes

Our Client in Milton Keynes requires two Best Interest Assessor (BIA) / Deprivation Of Liberty Safeguards ( DOLS) to join their Safeguarding team. You will manage a complex and diverse caseload, including Safeguarding Adults and issues of risk and mental capacity, within the parameters of agreed policies and practices together with the professional support and guidance from the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) / Deprivation Of Liberty Safeguard (DOLS) Lead. This will involve the management of sensitive, emotional and contentious issues and decisions with clients, relatives and carers.

As a Best Interest Assessor will have experience of
- Best Interest assessments
- DOLS Assessments
- Carrying a complex, diverse case load
- Undertaking adult safeguarding investigations

They will be expected to undertake excellent assessments plus have up-to-date knowledge and training. The successful candidates will be Social Workers with a BIA qualification. They will need to be flexible in terms of travel and so must be a car user as the role is specifically to carry out deprivation of liberty assessments.
Candidate minimum requirements:
Enhanced DBS
HCPC registered
Car driver/ owner
Post Qualified experience working within this setting
